Beautiful weather, live music and the great outdoors… what more can you ask for? The Motive Boardwear team had an awesome time at the 2009 UCF Green Expo on October 1st, 2009! Stevie and Christy introduced Motive’s 100% organic and recycled clothing line to UCF students and faculty during this festive event. The Expo was held from 10am to 2pm in the Student Union Courtyard. UCF’s Green Expo brought about 30 vendors to the campus including student eco-experiments and projects, new green companies, UCF departments and live music from Made of Hemp.

Students are stoked Motive’s environmentally-friendly clothing line will soon be available at Beach Scene, a cool surf shop in the heart of the UCF campus. UCF students received free Motive stickers, and were able to touch Motive’s super soft organic tees and recycled board shorts at the Green Expo. The 2009 UCF Green Expo was put together by UCF’s department of Sustainability and Energy Management. UCF is currently the third largest university in the Nation.

Motive Boardwear is looking forward to taking part in more events on campus in the upcoming weeks. The company will be donating product to Cornerstone students so they can raffle off the items for charity. Motive Boardwear is also a sponsor for UCF’s Surf Club and will be working with them on a number of events and parties during the upcoming months.

ORLANDO, FL – September 4, 2009 – Motive Boardwear joins the thousands of environmentalists around the world by participating in the 24^th Annual International Coastal Cleanup. Last year almost 400,000 volunteers participated! The Motive Boardwear team will be joining a local effort at Gaston Edwards Park at Lake Ivanhoe to help clean up the shores. Lake Ivanhoe’s Cleanup, hosted by the City of Orlando and Keep Orlando Beautiful, will be on Saturday, September 19^th, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Volunteers need to register with Jody Groostree at Keep Orlando Beautiful by Friday, September 11^th to reserve their spots. Free breakfast and t-shirts will be given to all registered volunteers.

Coordinated by the Ocean Conservancy and partnered with organizations and individuals across the globe, the International Coastal Cleanup has grown to become the largest volunteer effort in reducing waste and debris in the world’s oceans and waterways. Now in its 24^th year, coordination for Florida’s involvement has set to include a vast majority of lakes and famed coastal locations. “Most of Orlando’s lakes eventually drain into the Atlantic Ocean, so it’s very important that we prevent waste in these areas to fully combat global pollution problems,” says Joe Kolacki, Motive Boardwear Marketing and Team Manager.

The collaboration marks the third installment of Motive Boardwear’s on-going effort in preventing waste and debris accumulation on Florida’s East coast. With two beach cleanups down, the organic apparel brand is ready to get down and dirty once more.

WINTER PARK, FL – July 13, 2009 – Motive Boardwear takes action in the fight against beach pollution with their first ever organized beach clean-up at New Smyrna Beach this Friday, July 17, 2009.

The event, running from 8:45 a.m. to 12 noon, will begin with a quick gathering in the large parking lot located on historic Flagler Avenue, and then will move onto the beach and head slowly northward towards the Inlet. In addition to cleaning, Motive Boardwear staff will be shelling out free stickers, and one lucky person will receive one of our 100% organic tees.
